i was writing to ask if anyone has had any experience in handling a dispute with a sportsbook. i had three wagers on my account which i did not make. no one had my password or id and when i contacted the sportsbook they said the ip address where the wagers came from was from another state. the sportsbook cancelled the pending wager but the other two went thru yesterday. one was on horse racing and the other was a parlay which are things i have never bet on at this sportsbook. the sportsbook i used seems to have a good reputation in they are not blacklisted and they advertise on therx but they seem to think it is my problem.

i was thinking if the wagers were placed from another state due to the ip address is it possible the bets placed in my account and the other persons account got interlinked somehow. has this happened to anyone else and how would be the best way to pursue or dispute this with the sportsbook. any help provided would be appreciated. thank you

dude your are responsible for your account information, simply change the password and do not share it as simply as that

as i had mentioned in my message no one else had my password. i thought sportsbooks will only accept wagers from the ip address where the account is registered and wagers coming from another ip address are cancelled. the ip address from which the wagers came was from another state about 700 miles from where i live according to the sportsbook.

I am sure you are honest but anybody could call their college friend in the next state and try that and after the fact claim improprieties. Sorry for your loss.

i know thats what most people think he lost and he wants his money back. when i lose i go on and forget about it. these wagers were for things i have never bet on at this or any sportsbook. i bet sports sides and maybe o/u sometimes. these wagers were for parlays and horses which are things i have never done before.

i contacted my other sportsbook and they said they would not allow wagers to go through from an ip address which is different from the one registered when the account was opened. wagers from a different ip address are flagged and the account frozen. don't know if this is an industry standard or not but it is something to think about if someone hacks your account.

this is not so true....

the idea of having internet access PC/WAP is to be able to place wagers regardless of your location ...thats is why you must keep your credentials in a safe and secure place at all times...if someone got a grab of your acc number and password you are responsible for whatever action that is placed in your account...

I dont think its an industry standard. I have place many wagers very many times from different states. No one has every called me about my wagers and my account has never been frozen or redflagged for this..

That being said, if the wagers are on things like horses or crap you have never wagered on, then you should pursue this further...

I myself try to log into my account at least twice a day because i know that there is no such thing as a secure account password.

Come on people lets not be naive here. There are many ways you password can be compromised from spamware, hackers, even the clerks at the very book you play at can steal and sell your password to some one else..

i normally log in every day as a ritual to check my balances and make sure everything is on the up and up. I dont kid myself about how secure my account is
